Good News in and around Cardiff by Leonie Baur

Here is some good news in and around Cardiff that will put a smile on your face!

You have probably been on Instagram a lot lately, but did you come across the Hashtag #smallendshappy yet? Small businesses in Cardiff (and across the UK) are coming together to send some happy mail to lift the mood with a random act of kindness. All you need to do is type in the hashtag on Instagram, find all the businesses that are taking part and nominate individuals you think deserve a treat in the comments.

Did you see the beautiful rainbows in windows people have created in the last weeks to support the NHS? Check out the Hashtag #rainbowsinwindow on Twitter and Instagram. It will definitely make you smile! You can also get creative and draw your own rainbow in a window to support the amazing people working for the NHS in your area.

You probably did not hear that one million seagrass seeds were planted off the Welsh coast to help tackle the climate crisis. Apparently, they are capable of absorbing carbon dioxide even faster than trees! So hopefully they can nurture sea life!

More good news relating to the sea: a seal pup called Graham was found by the Welsh coast in Pembrokeshire. He was rescued and taken care of by the RSPCA. The great news is he was just recently released back to the sea!

I hope you’re smiling now! ☺
