Twin Made Year!

Since 2017 I have done a Year project, where I do a thing a day throughout the year.

2023 was the Year of the worm.

This worm is made using leftover yarn and stuffing and ended up being 20 metres and 23cm long - see what I did there!
Previous Projects:
2017 - Year of the stitch
2018 - Year of the patchwork
2019 - Year of the pom pom
2020/21 - Pandemic Dick
2022 - Year of the Vulva
2023 - Year of the Worm

2017 - Year of the stitch. I did a stitch a day and after about 212 if was a different stitch and then I had to repeat them.

2018 - Year of the patchwork. Using fabric I was working with I kept a square a day and created a huge patchwork piece, which I used to upholster the bench of the Craft Booth in my old studio.

2019 - Year of the pom pom. I made a pom pom a day and they are now all displayed in my studio at The Corp. You can spot them if you look up.

2020/21 - Pandemic Dick. 2020 started as a weave but as the pandemic hit I started making a dick a day using all my scraps to make and stuff them. It was fuelled by all those people beings dicks: the government, people out shopping and social media weirdos. I made 463 in total, one a day from lockdown until I was fully vaccinated.

2022 - Year of the vulva. Using my scraps I made a vulva a day from all my fabric scraps and hung together to create a vulva chandelier.

2023 - Year of the worm. Using up my scraps of wool and stuffing I crocheted a 2023cm long worm. That is just over 5cm a day.

2024 - I will use all my leftover fabric and scraps and create a puff ball quilt.

International Women's Day Alternative Crafternoon!

We celebrated International Women's Day with an Alternative Crafternoon! There was not a cup of tea or slice of cake in sight! Instead we choose to raise up the women around us with lots of fun crafts: stitch your own protest signs, glittery tampon earrings, vulva paintalong and more!

Wicked Women’s Institute, Geetlush and I, asked the awesome creative community of Cardiff and received over 25 raffle prizes and with all the ticket sales and raffle tickets sold, we raised £320 for Welsh Women’s Aid - which has absolutely blown my mind!

Resident of O Dan//Under\\Nos Da. Rou’s Ink created a tattoo flash sheet and donated a portion of each to our total amount raised.

Caitlin also joined us with her new pop up shop specialising in fiction/non fiction/zines from marginalised voices! Social links coming soon!
