How to crochet - Holding the Hook - Twin Made - Beginner Crochet - Cardiff

Hi! I have been teaching crochet for nearly 10 years. I taught myself to crochet and did it with books and videos and it took me FOUR MONTHS to get going and a few more years to master the terminology and tricks.

The Twin Made Beginner crochet class is a two hour workshop. You will master the art of crochet and how to create a Granny Square. I am so jealous!

You will leave with the beginning of a Granny Square, Wool, Hook and detailed guides.

One of the first things I get people to do at the Twin Made Beginner Crochet Workshop, well after they have picked their yarn, is learn how to hold the hook.

A crochet hook is called a crochet hook as it has a hook at one end.

Hold the hook in your dominant hand however is comfortable for you.

You'll need to be able to twist the hook to face up and then towards you to face down.

When people first start crocheting they twist the hook, all the way around and pick up too many stitches and get annoyed with crochet and we don’t want that!

You will also need to be able dive the hook in and out of your crochet - a bit like a wand.
