Twin Made Sewing Classes -Beginner Sewing - Simple Dress + Skirt with Pockets! - Canton, Cardiff
We have two classes: Beginner Sewing or Simple Sewing.
Beginner Sewing - Bring your own* machine or use one of ours. Learn how to thread your machine and fill a bobbin. You will then make a zip up pouch, learning how to put in a zip, master corners and overlock edges.
Simple Sewing Dress OR Skirt with Pockets
Skirt:
Come and make a made to measure elasticated waist skirt with pockets. You will need 2 meters of a prewashed light to medium weight cotton or cotton mix fabric.
Dress:
You will make a made to measure Shift Dress. You will need 2.5 metres of a cotton/cotton mix fabric - duvet covers work really well. Here are some examples made in our previous classes:

These workshop is suitable for all sewing abilities and all sizes.
During the class you will be shown how to measure and create a simple pattern to make a simple skirt, with pockets and an elasticated waistband.
After the workshop you will be emailed a step by step guide so you can lots more in different lengths and sizes.
*if bringing your own machine please state this when booking. You’ll need to arrive a few minutes early to set up and ensure your machine works and don’t forget your pedal and plug and some spare bobbins for the machine.

Workshops can be transferred if seven days notice of cancellation is given, there will be a administration fee.
If a workshop is cancelled due to events beyond our control we will reschedule any dates affected - we can not offer refunds.

T-Shirt - You will need 1 - 1.5 metres of a light to medium weight jersey fabric.
A great class for anyone wanting to start with the basics of dressmaking - all abilities welcome. Make a made to measure cropped sleeve t-shirt.
Sweater - Join us to make a simple sweater with raglan sleeves. You will need 2 metres of a medium weight, prewashed sweatshirt fabric.
Sparkly Bum Bag - Join us to make a super sparkly bum bag. Perfect for hand free partying and a summer of fun. All materials Included.
Rucksack - Join us to create a rucksack with lots of pockets and adjustable straps. You will need one metre of a medium weight fabric such as cord or twill and a light fabric to line the bag!
Crop Top and Shorts - Join us to make a crop top a nd a pair of shorts with pockets.
You will need 2/2.5 metres of a light weight cotton/cotton mix fabric.
Culottes - Perfect for the warmer Summer evenings! You will need 2 metres of a prewashed medium weight fabric to create a pair of culottes with a zip fastening and pockets.
Lunch bags and bowl covers
Join us to make one or both a lunch bag and food cover. Both will be fully washable. You will have the guide so you can make lots more. All materials provided.
